Polishing the roof pillars

Hi All,

Something I wanted to share with you. I've always had problems obtaining a lasting finish on the large plastic pillars at the rear of the RRS. Also the pillars at the front and the door ones. In fact, I've had probs with similar trims on all previous vehicles.

Now, I've recently started to use R222 on my RRS and decided to apply some carnauba concours look polish to a small portion of one of the trims....

It's fantastic! I use it on the mirror housings, all the trim on the upper part of the doors, the large pillars and the trim around the windscreen (uprights). There are no streaks when it rains, its very durable and it looks GREAT. I'm very happy with it. I'll have a go at applying it to the lower door trims.

(I don't work for r222 :-) sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - couldn't see it.

The use of any carnauba paste wax will give the same results. It will also protect the plastics from UV fading.

they also come up well if you use a Random orbital polisher first give then a cood clensing first and apply the wax and it will look like they are painted!

Whilst sealing the car with Wolfs body wrap I got some on the pillars and posts so decided to carry on.... lucky they were already clean..... no noticeable difference, still look matt but now no streaks at all and should be good for 9 months to a year.... make sure they are spotless first or you'll seal in any marks..
