I'm just back from 2nd of 2 trips in the Pyrenees, both going through Andorra. The first trip started using normal Total diesel and the car really struggled at times, especially on steep roads with hairpins. Then filled up with premium diesel in Andorra and used it for the rest of that trip and the 2nd (and main) Pyrenees trip with altitudes up to 2800m/8000ft. The car was much better and smoother, no problems with altitude and steep hills combo. Also with premium diesel at €1.15 it's cheap as chips in Andorra so no brainer. Car is also lot smoother on premium diesel at "normal" altitude so sticking with it, mpg is up 10% as well. |

It was a good trip, got up to the snow line but was not blocking the tracks. Stayed overnight in Andorra, used the old smuggling routes from Spain.
