Which Diesel ??

Just picked up my RRS from the uk 2 days ago.....First RRS and first diesel to boot !! What an amazing 600 mile drive home I had...., loved every second of it... Couple of pit stops and apart from that felt no fatigue.... so much more usable and road friendly than my old RR Vogue of 2 yrs ago..

When filling up there are two different quality of diesels.... When filling up I opted for the pricier one......
Can anyone tell me .....
What is the difference...... and which one should I use in future ideally...

I don't know if it makes any difference to the choice but I live at altitude in the pyranees...

Thanks

I'm just back from 2nd of 2 trips in the Pyrenees, both going through Andorra. The first trip started using normal Total diesel and the car really struggled at times, especially on steep roads with hairpins. Then filled up with premium diesel in Andorra and used it for the rest of that trip and the 2nd (and main) Pyrenees trip with altitudes up to 2800m/8000ft. The car was much better and smoother, no problems with altitude and steep hills combo. Also with premium diesel at €1.15 it's cheap as chips in Andorra so no brainer. Car is also lot smoother on premium diesel at "normal" altitude so sticking with it, mpg is up 10% as well. Smile

It was a good trip, got up to the snow line but was not blocking the tracks. Stayed overnight in Andorra, used the old smuggling routes from Spain.

Gratuitious pic c/o one of the others on the trip, just can't remember who. Embarassed
