hmm think if you plan to sell it in the future I'd stear clear of borneville ... its rare for a reason.

the kit you are thinking about is an autobiography kit .. i might stand corrected but I believe the HST pre MY10 will not fit.

welcome along Thumbs Up 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

2006- BMW Z4M Roadster -Titanium Silver

Hi,
Re: the new gear knob, I've just taken delivery of a MY2012 SDV6, there's a couple of pictures in my thread below of how it looks. I really like it and think it looks nice on the centre console, it gives it a very uncluttered look.
I assume if you are ordering a MY2012 car it will have the same gear selecter.

RRSQ80, I was told by a dealer recently that LR seem to be doing annual cosmetic changes across the ranges, and major re-designs every four years or so. The new FFRR is due out 2013 and they hinted that there could be a new RRS for 2014.
As for colour, i was surprised to hear the Galway green colour which i really liked is not so popular. Maybe the fact that in the dealership I was at, there was a colour display case with FOUR different kinds of black Confused and three different kinds of grey says something...

I have not had any major computer problems over 6 years and 4 RRS HSE variants (TDV6 2.7, TDV8 3.6, TDV6 3.0 and now driving a year old TDV8 3.6 Razz ) There have been other problems but most fixed under warrantee without dramas. Bear in mind that computers are everywhere in cars now especially in RR's whatever the type. I was told that eu regs make it almost impossible to build cars without them due to the tight emission and safety rules.

(TDV6 2.7: broken o/s flasher light bulb - fixed under warrantee, intermittent failure of the cruise control - f/u/w.

TDV8: the EPB destroyed itself - f/u/w; adaptive headlights got stuck in the down position - another 'known issue' that fixed itself!!- go figure Confused ....: rear brakes binding/severe corrosion (2 months after a supposed main dealer service!! Evil or Very Mad ) £££new pads at local garage, discs were ok fortunately.

No issues with the TDV6 3.0 which I had for a year and 10k miles.('xcept it was a V6 Whistle )

Latest TDV8: so far just a few minor niggles after 4 days and 300 miles: Passenger front window doesn't close in automatic mode, the door mirrors don't deflect down when reverse is engaged, and the front wheels need balancing. All minor things tbh. Overall I have had good dealer service and no problems that would stop me buying ANOTHER RRS next time round!

Well that's the overview of faults I have experienced fwiw, hope it helps, but maybe I've just been lucky.... Wink

I love these cars just, just can't help myself!! Embarassed Thumbs Up

everything bootz says is spot on! I am on my second RRS and nothing major has gone wrong with either, plenty of niggles and this is why it is critical to have a reliable/trustworthy place to get stuff fixed.

1. Stratstones - my experience with 2 different dealerships has been awful. They bullshit and make up as many excuses as possible to avoid doing anything. I happen to know someone who works at one branch, and they literally get told week by week whether or not to "find" problems that need fixing on customer's cars. It is as close to fraud as you could get.

2. Lookers - only experienced one dealership and that is Lookers Park Royal (ex Charles Hurst), bought my latest car from them and they get to deal with any problems etc. What a difference from Stratstones! Stuff gets fixed no questions asked, they know how to handle LR customer service etc and the sales team know their stuff. James was particularly helpful finding my current MY10 TDV8 for example. Jeremy in sales knows the answer to every single LR question even ones you make up. Wayne in service is very helpful too.

So my point it.. buy a RRS for sure, unless you are really unlucky you will LOVE owning it, but key to stress free ownership is having a great dealer to turn to when things go wrong.. your profile says you are London based, so I highly recommend Lookers Park Royal.

Now James, where is my commission Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter ============
2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa
2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable
============
2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!
