I have a TDV6 and I think it is plenty powerful enough, nothing wrong with a TDV6 if you see a nice one 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography |

Thanks for your response Iain. With regard to the service interval of 15k miles, is there any time limit within which you need to have it done eg 15k miles or 2 years, whichever is sooner ? The TDV8 does sound like the better car in terms of balance between power and performance, my issue though is that I don't think I can get one with £24k What are the TDV6 and (TDV8) engines like with regard to high mileages ? Pretty robust or start needing work at 100k+ ? Thanks for the reassurance ! The usual response is don't go for the TDV6, it is underpowered, go for the TDV8. Great if you can afford one though What kind of mpg are you getting on yours ? Also, any feedback on my other questions ? FL2 should return 35mpg, you will never get the same in a RRS

I am sure there was something wrong with the FL2 I had then. I am currently driving a 1998 320 CLK and the economy on this is better than the FL2 ! Proud owner of a 2008 TDV8 HSE.....and an Audi A3 2.0T DSG Cab and a Porsche 911 Turbo (Mercedes W208 320 CLK and Mercedes W124 E220 Estate now gone) |

The fuel consumption on my MY10 TDV8 is 22.8mpg and this comprises mostly open countryside driving. Best I have ever seen was 25.8mpg and that was on a motorway run with the readout set to zero before we started. People tell me it will "get better when the engine loosens up" and "avoid Supermarket diesel" but frankly I think this is as good as it gets. My Alpina B5 Touring (supercharged & turbocharged 4.4 V8 petrol, 530bhp, 700nM, 205mph) returns .................. 22.8mpg! The E-Type gets 18mpg - I seem to be stuck in a 20mpg world.

Take your time and have a really good look round at lots of tdv6s and test drive as many as you reasonably can
