TDV8 - rattly to growl diesel score

I am new to diesel ownership after many years of the petrol variety. I have a HST TDV8 which I like. What I am interested in finding out is where on the diesel rattly to low growl TDV8 engine noise scale I am compared to others. If you imagine rattly as 1 and low growl as 10 I think I am about 6 when I put my foot down, although it seems to vary with the weather a bit. Any chance some of you good folk could score your rattly to growl level when you exercise your right feet.

Since I had the remap done I would say about an 8 too. Heard it from the outside the other day when my brother drove it and was dead chuffed with the sound Cool TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

+1

SWMBO took mine out the other day and even with minimal throttle the V8 growl was mighty impressive Mr. Green

Rattle?!?

I'm with you guys 8 or 9 I reckon, it's got a much lower rumble when you boot it than say the 325 BMW coupe I used to have had, and i like the noise that made.

The RRS is way better Thumbs Up Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?

Put the back seats down - you only hear the engine from the driver's seat. With them down you hear the exhaust roar as well which is usually reserved for back seat passengers Shocked '10 Range Rover Sport TDV8

Having down graded Whistle from a V8 to a 2010 V6 RRS last year i had forgotten what a growl was....then i found out that LR had been putting the Ford V8 engine into RR 'sports right up to September last year (always do your research... Rolling Eyes ), which LR UK are now supplying to dealers.. get yours while you still can! I have been rushing round dealers and surfing like a thing possessed and have just bought a Sep 2010 RRS TDV8; I test drove it on Wednesday Cool Smile Very Happy Bow down Thumbs Up
Wow those paddle shifts Thumbs Up are the dogz whatsits and ooooooh that growl Razz Wink i'd forgotten what it was like. Altogether awesome, and delivery on Monday Very Happy
Rattle to growl ratio based on a 45 minute test-drive in west London crawl 1-10 Razz might re-adjust that next week when i've driven it a bit, but i'm overall chuffed to bits and can't wait to get back in the monster.
Detailing next week hopefully, and a set of winter tyres if i can decide which ones Confused
Hell I haven't felt this excited since i last bought a V8 RRS, what an awesome set of wheels Thumbs Up
