last week I noticed my tdv8 making a noise on acceleration that sounded a bit like a tyre rubbing quietly.
This occurs when you push the throttle but doesnt seem whollylinked to engine or road speed.
if youlift of then the noise dies down and once cruising is inaudible....
intial thoughts were it sounded & felt a bit like a toothed belt that was starting to slip

The I started getting engine fault warnings popping up, 3 times so far. switch off and start again and allis well for a bit.

The car drives smoothly both engine and box when the fault message is off
car has 46kmiles on the clock and is sadly out of warranty as it was bought new as an export/import from a non main dealer...
Hoping its something simple like a slipping fan belt and the 'engine fault' is simply flagging this
Nightmare would be a transfer box/gearbox/diff related nightmare

its been great till now but worried tomorrow's visit to the 'vet' will diagnose some incredibly expensive failure

well into the dealer this morning and diagnosis is a split turbo pipe which is better than expected.
should get fixed next tuesday
