Central Locking Receiver

lo all,

I believe I have a problem with my central locking receiver, both keys have been tested and work fine.

Is the receiver in the block in the middle of the roof? and also could it be a fuse that has blown?

Does anyone know which fuse it might be?

Any advice would be appreciated?

Thanks

James

The central locking works intermittently on both keys.

Sometimes you can go to the car and press the unlock button and it works but 95% of the time it doesnt work now.

Same with the lock button.

How do you re-sync?

Nobody had any problems with remote central locking from the key fobs such as my problem?

Have a look on the D3 site - this thread has information regarding a wiring splice that has been known to cause issues.

chapman, I thought by now you should already know where/what the box is? I even showed you how the box
looks like.... http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/post316007.html#316007 Rolling Eyes Wink

You can restore the keys' synchronisation by starting the engine with the unsynchronized ignition key and
allowing the engine to run for a minimum of 6 minutes. Smile Malaysia Boleh!

How do you access that without ripping all the roof lining out?

Well either A swap it or B check the connection to it.

Because I dont believe both keys have packed in at the same time?

I believe both keys are working fine and it is something internal thats the problem like the wiring or the receiver. But I dont see how anything could have changed with the wiring.

Regards,

James

Have you tried to re-sync the keys?

Ripping the roof lining might be going too far.
Best would be to get a dealer to run a diagnostic and see if they can find the fault. Malaysia Boleh!
