Range Rover Sport Extreme Offroad

Some would say we've pushed the car further offroad than most Sport owners will however I've always had this irresistible urge to push boundaries so....

We wanted to see just how much our Sport could handle.

Over a rain soaked long weekend, we threw pretty much everything at her.

We tried to drown her in a swollen creek, got it airborne over some steep rock ledges and then decided to plow it through some sludgy clay trails that a tractor would struggle with.

Some of the vision has been posted last night with more on the way over the next couple of days.

Since then I've had a winch and front bash plate fitted to help cope with this kind of thing more easily.

Just remember mate that my truck is only an attempt to build my own G4 spec vehicle, and I'm still yet to find a solution to retro-fitting the e-diff (which at this stage is cost prohibitive!)

United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Cairns Blue

Great fun there...looks like you are ready to come and tackle Colorado and Utah with us now.

I actually prefer the videos w/o music so you can hear the throttle modulation of each driver. Just by watching the videos, you can see that the Disco driver has good finesse, knows how to use the throttle moderately and generally is smoother going over the obstacles.

One item to wach for...when you've got your wheel in the air (cool shots by the way!) and it's spinning fast, if you come down hard, you can bust that half shaft more easily...so a bit more gentle on the throttle especially when coming back down to earth!

The wheels on Black Betty looks like some steelies, I guess, are you unable to run standard 18's or Compomotive's there, or are these perhaps 17's?

Nice adventures...great stuff!! PJPR

Nah, too much mud for my tyres, I'm only running Pirelli ATR's. To get through that lot I'd need Goodyear MTR's and I don't have them anymore, sadly I don't have any space left in the car to pack a set either !!

We'll see though, hopefully get to meet up next year once the car arrives. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

A big thanks to the team at Duckworth for being so helpful organising the winch for me.

Got to test it out recovering a D4 last weekend and it was fantastic. 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6
