LRO International Big Test

The Nov 2011 issue runs a test of Defender, Freelander 2, Evoque, Disco 4, TDV6 Sport and FFRR on road, greenlanes and an off-road course. The Sport was tested running on Goodyear Excellence 275/40R20 road tyres.

Their opinion "On road, [the Sport] is the grandest of grand tourers, with fantastic handling.........Off-road, the Sport is simply astoundingly good. With the suspension raised and Terrain Response and low range engaged, the low profile road tyres confidently picked their way over everything. You can't help conjuring up an image of a stiletto-wearing supermodel crossing a muddy building site - but it works".

The off-road course was said to include steep climbs, mud, rocky track and loose sandy areas, where "The Range Rover, Sport and Disco 4 trundle around looking for something really difficult to do".

Pretty good for a car on street tyres.

depends, if they are anything like the mindset of nearly all Disco and Defender (and original RR) owners!

the looks we got when we took the 'sport around Salisbury (there are lots of 4x4'ers up there).... priceless!!
