Poor Accelerator Pedal Response - 2006 S/C HST

Hi all,

My car pulls strongly, doesn't misfire, hesitate or anything else like that but it has poor accelarator pedal response compared to others I have driven, I haven't tried other S/C's just diesels. I don't know if it's a trait of the S/C engine or an issue.

In basic I can quickly push the accelerator to the floor and back again when stationary in neutral and the revs won't even move. I have to be really quick but surely you shouldn't be able to floor it with no rev movement?

I drove a TDV8 yesterday, if you do the same thing the revs do move around half way under the same conditions as above. It has much better pedal response, same goes when driving, when you punch it, it goes right away. With mine when you punch it, there is a little pause, and then it goes! Is this normal?

Cheers

T

Anyone else out there with a S/C, can you emulate what I've described and tell me how quick the response is. I can jab the pedal with my right foot and engine revs don't fluctuate, I have to hold my foot on the accelerator a short moment to effect engine revs .

Thanks,

T

Hello bud
You been trying to impress in McDonald's car park again. Razz
I have tried it on my sc and it does the same. It's not a fault, the motors are drive by wire, safety features prevent bliping of the accelerator. Helps to prevent valve and sc wear due to oil starvation.
