Well, having had 5 weeks during July/Aug of incessant issues ref the suspension, knocking, creaking, odd popping noises, you name it... my RRS now drives superbly. It is just as it should be. I was going to replace the 20" wheels with 40 profile tyres to 19" with 50 profile as the ride was awful (as I'd had a D3 in the past with a super ride). Then the dealer replaced the arc bars, drop links, which improved the job 75pc... but then the major change occurred when 750 miles later, they retorqued everything up. and that completely changed the whole ride to perfection. Since then, I've done about 3000 miles and all is just A1. So, I'm now staying with 20" wheels. Thumbs Up

Glad your dealer sorted the problem for you Peanutbob. I've had 3 RRS's over the last 6 years and never had this problem - and they were/are regularly left standing for weeks at a time. I was beginning to think I'd just been lucky.
Thanks for posting anyway, I'm about to change back to a RRS TDV8 - and you never know! I'll be asking the dealer to check those torques! Wink

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Lucerne Green

I have a 2009 RRS HSE - purchased only 5 months ago - initially the wobble over 70 mph was awful. And from early morning start - the wobble at 60 mph is not good.

LR took it back and whilst car was still under warranty replaced some of the roll bar rubbers, did the 4 wheel tracking and put one new tyre on ( an assymeterical tyre - when the rest are all standard!). Improved the car - but still not entirely solved...the wobble does eventually reduce - but the steering wheel feels fidgety on all but the most smoothest of roads.

I then asked for the wheels to be balanced by LR - they did this - and it felt ok - then again early morning - back to its old self again.

I am convinced there is an issue relative to either flatspotting or something else when the car is cold! It is not just a wobble - but it feels a little like a dull thudding - like driving over a rumble strip - but eventually disappearing...

I have since had the front and rears re balanced independantly - and then the assymetrical tyre swapped onto the rear axle so I have two matching tyres on the front - marginally better. I have tried another LR dealer - who did not find any fault - and then I drove it with a tester - which is when he advised we swap the wheels round.

I honestly don't think I will be able to eliminate the tyres until I eventually replace them all...The car was owned by an old couple and to be honest had only done 20k in 3 years so I think it has stood around a lot!

I have had BMW's for years and honestly have nver spent so long back and fortr to dealers...I that said LR in Leeds is very courteous! JeffP

Thanks Ady - very interesting - LR in Leeds is saying there isn't much of an issue with my car - despite the fact I don't think there should be any bibrations through the wheel!

It is out of the manufacturer's warranty and the LR Approved Warranty which I now have LR say won't pay for continued replacement of parts to try and fix something. If they did follow the recommended route I'd be interested if it did fix it!

I know it isn't quite right - that's the issue - and it just detracts from what is otherwise a really lovely car! LR Tadcaster who supplied it after doing q a few repairs/tracking and new roll bar bushes says the car is ok...

Am inclined to wait and see - doesn't look like I really have any other option other than paying for a new steering rack myself ( and then of course it could just need new tyres..!!).

They don't seem particularly robust vehicles in comparison to the Beemers I have owned for the last 10 years ro more! JeffP

Beg to differ Farnells (Leeds) have only ever given me good service,

Fixed or in the process of fixing all my faults, not dealt with sales to same degree, but the sales chap who I spoke to previously, always is polite, even though I bought elsewhere.

We're as LR York, never sorted a few faults on my first car, 22 times in 3 years was a little too many times to visit a dealer, and the salesman throwed his toys out of the cot because he didn't have a chance to sell me my current one, even though I sat at his desk for an hour and he got nowhere close to the spec LPR offered

I know, I suppose the FL2 has a tiny bit less things to go wrong, so their master tech doesn't need to know as much Thumbs Up
