Services - based on time or sensors?

Hi,

On the 2008 HSE TDV8 Range Rover Sport; does the computer work out when a service is needed and if so does it work it out on purely the mileage or does it use sensors throughout to gage the wear on different bits of kit?

Ok, so if I'd have done 100 miles but it had been 13 months then I'm due a service?

2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable

2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!
