Removing Centre box/silencer on exhaust system

Hi Guys

I've just purchased a s/c RRS and I'm contemplating having the centre silencer taken out of the exhaust and replaced with a straight through section. I understand this is a popular mod on this engine in the Jag XK, it gives that extra bit of noise when under acceleration with very little affect when cruising, some even say it helps increase the mid range grunt a little and it is a lot cheaper than going for a full exhaust system.

I was wondering has anyone done this on their sport? If so how much was it? I used to have a defender 90 and they did replacement piping for the centre box, it was a bolt off, replace and bolt on job, very easy DIY and the pipe was £50. I have been unable to find anything like this for the RRS, has anyone else found something?

Cheers in advance. LR Defender 90 - gone
RRS Supercharged HST - gone
Audi S3 Sportback Black Editiion - gone
RRS SDV6 - current

hi, i had the whole system replaced including the cats and then superchipped it. Mine also 06 SC. the middle section was replaced with a cross flow straight through and maybe the garage would make you just this part. You would get the sound and a little extra torque. Give them a try and ask for andrew and mention glen, silver range rover sport as he certainly will remember me Very Happy MIJ EXHAUSTS 01922 645646.

Cheers Glen. I had a look at their website, I think your car is in their gallery? They look like they do a very nice job! Maybe I should save up and get a complete system! LR Defender 90 - gone

Would these guys be able to do much with the 3.0 TDI?

What would it do to the sound?

I just spoke to MIJ - they sound pretty good! I'm going to visit them when I've got the new car and see what they are like!
