It could be the alternator so I would get it checked before you buy a battery

Lr assist advised me that once a battery is flat it needs to be taken off the vehicle and fully charged and it may be ruined - the alternator will not recharge it - only maintains it

A new LR battery is not £300. They're taking the p ss. A new one was about £140 when I bought mine earlier this year from my local LR dealer.

It sounds like your alternator might be failing. Alternatively, check the upper boot switch for corrosion. It can short and kill the battery in short order.

The buzzing noise is normal. The consensus is that it's the EGR valves sorting themselves out after the engine is switched off. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

If your caravan has LED tail lights and you don't have an LED controller fitted to the truck, that's more than likely your problem. When I got a van a couple of years back the first thing I was told was fit an LED controller to the RRS as there is a possibility the dash panel will go haywire and give nutty readouts. It was the caravan seller (not the RRS dealer) who gave me the tip. He has a RR so was in a good position to know. Also, he had no vested financial interest so I took it as gospel.
