Yes..but if you open it by the remote, the tailgate opens...dog (if there is one) jumps out...put stuff in...retrieve dog...put dog back in...jump in car...dog jumps back out...some low life swipes stuff (it happens!), tailgate closes...
It's just a retrograde step.

All of the cars I know of that have powered boot lids will NOT close with the key fob. Elf anne save me. You usually have to press a button inside the boot itself in case a) someone nicks the stuff whilst you wait to close it remotely, b) you wedge the crook in the boot and drive off (against yuman rites I suspect) or c) you do actually squash the dog whilst it is jumping in or out.

LR might be different but still waiting for some info and pics. I'm sure James will get the Kodak out of the draw at the first oppourtunity Wink Thumbs Up

Ok, so wife opens the tailgate with the remote, in the rain...dog jumps out, puts shopping in, retrieves dog...presses inside button to close gate, wait whilst gate closes in case dog gets squashed. Gets in car with wet hairdo. Sets fan to max on right hand side air vent to blow dry hair back into shape.

Open and Close from remote key

Just traded my TDV6 for a ML350 - has powered tailgate. Opens and closes using the key as a remote. Very convenient - just have to remember not to park too close a wall or obstruction as the gate doesn't detect obstructions.

Got to say I don't think the new black grilles look right with White and colour coded door handles with plain sills looks weird. New look yo me looks like it will suit black and dark grey better. Hub caps seem to be range rover rather than black land rover ones. 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

Looking forward to my 12MY RRS with electric tailgate...opens/closes on the fob/dashboard switch or switch on the tailgate itself. The opening height can be programmed too. The current two piece tailgate is a pain in the arse...one bit you have to slam, one bit you close gently, can't be opened as you approach the car with arms full of bags, heavy, costly and complicated...two mechanisms, two switches, two panels, daft logic... Banging Head

Real progress and proper market research said the powered one piece tailgate is what the vast majority of customers wanted Wink How right they are: Well done LR Very Happy 2011 RRS HSE 3.0V6
