Is there a good or better time to sell?

I might be thinking of selling my 55 Reg 2.7 Java Black RRS to help fund a house purchase and was wondering whether there was a good or best time to sell? I was weighing up the monthly value of depreciation versus hanging on until the winter if indeedthe prices do firm up during the winter months.

any views?

Winter is the best time to sell one of these mate, apparently forecourts throughout the country were literally running out of them last year.

I plan to wait for the snow then I'm selling an 07 2.7 with HST. fairly high mileage at 66 now but shouldnt be much more than 73 when Jan or Feb comes.

Sub 40k RS6 for the wife then, only I haven't told her yet and she quite likes the RRS.

Does the value of the car increase in the winter or just not go down so much as usual?

The prices will only ever go up if demand outweighs supply. Not selling now is a big gamble against what 3/4 months depreciation could cost you.

When i was looking at part-exing my D3 for either a RRS in July or a MY12 D4 in november the part-ex was considered to be the same .

The increase in the winter price negated the extra couple of months of depreciation .... I would start advertising now ... its probably going to take a few weeks to shift in the current climate . Judging by the number of posts here and elsewhere regarding winter tyres people are already in their prep for the winter mindsets. 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

2006- BMW Z4M Roadster -Titanium Silver

Club - Ex Defender & Disco 3

RRS will likely fall in october and november, but i expect figures to rise dec, jan and feb. Sell now or feb you will likely get a similar figure.

Last year models went up 800-1000 a month from dec - feb but falls have been 400-1000 in the last 6 months. I wouldn't hold onto it till dec and sell as you will loose more in the next few months than the car will increase in Dec with a bit snow.

Im looking for a TDV6 at the moment so if you selling PM details and the figure you have in mind.

Thumbs Up
