LR marketing in OZ - Sucks

Great news !! especially when LR are trying to make inroads in the ML and X5 brigade in OZ http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/range-r...1hctv.html

So we pay over the odds for the equivalent of an SE model, and i mean seriously over the odds, it cost us 60K of her majesties finest when you take in Conversion rates, and LR give us the finger in terms of including the updated models later this year.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Shocked Laughing

the paying over the odds for an SE based model Exclamation (more than you pay in the UK for an HSE me thinks)

or being left behind in terms of model release

I think you are getting hte best combination actually - except the stupid tailgate - i dont see what the big deal is, all you arent getting for a few months is an 8 speed box and no gear stick.

Im sure everyone here pays more than i pay for an HSE Mike

is the lack of 8 speed gearbox a possible indication that its not up to the off road use you Ozzy lot do?

Maybe its not up to the constant driving on corrugated roads and the off road expeditions that you lot do and is more suitable to school run traffic etc Question

surely it cannot be any worse than my current 6 speed box that does not have the inclination to know what gear to select half the time when cornering, slowing down for junctions, roundabouts etc, and that is on the black stuff, which contrary to what my fellow UK types may think, they do have here in abundance Laughing Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Very few Land Rover products are drivin in this way, most are just bought and driven around the metro areas like X5's and ML's etc. Although Land Rover push their off road history as a point of differentiation, the reality is they see their key markets in the family and poser markets - as these are bigger and worth more $'s!

I have stopped waving to Landrovers because they all seem to be driven by soccer mums who have no idea what they are driving - to them Landies is just a car to take the kids to and from school and dance lessons.
