I (to my wife's great amusement given the grief I had thrown in her direction for doing something similar) caught the wing of my previous car on a concrete post in our flat's car park. This caused a crease and dent in the metal as well as scraping the paintwork quite badly. It was so bad in fact that I thought I might have to replace the whole wing. My pessimism was increased as I knew the paint would be difficult to match (it was VW Dark Blue Pearlescent). I ended up taking it to:

I had a bad dent and scratch in the tailgate of my first RRS (it was Giverny Green) repairs by the local Chip's Away mobile franchise. The guy did a brilliant job without respraying the entire panel. The same guy has also since done dent and paint repairs on several cars within the family and all have been done for a very reasonable price (certainly a lot less than a dealer would charge) and done on the drive at home. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks all for the prompt replies & help. Getting quotes from chips away, smart UK & a place called little knocks. Will update on the quality of work - seems like there is a 2 week wait to get booked in. Here is hoping it all works out. Cheers all. |

Just scratched the entire right side of car and could put my nail in the scratch which usually means it is through the clear. Took it to my favorite paint shop and they buffed it OUT!!! Gone. Charged me $50. I was ready to have the entire side repainted. It takes someone who really knows how to color sand and use the buffer. There is probably not a lot of clear left but I did not have to have it repainted!. Good luck. Mike mike murphy |

Can you take a picture of the scratches? I took some scratches out of a boot of a bmw 3 series which were pretty bad. (The customer had road rage and the person followed him home and when he came back out he found the scratches on the boot) Depending on where it is it may be reducible at a significantly cheaper cost... Oh and I am in Hook so only a stones throw from Reading... Heres a link to the pics:

Thanks john for the help & apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The scratches are similar to those you have posted up, unfortunately I have booked the car in already - closer to home in west London as I was not going to be in reading, place called little knocks. Anyway they said the same thin that they will try & polish it out first. Let's see how it goes. Will update once all done.
