2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
TPMS and software

Now I had to change a TPMS valve on a new set of wheels.
LR could not reset the TPMS monitoring because these new valves need a new program
and they don't have the program yet.
After discussing the issue they told me the vehicle was so recent the program is not up to date.
Strange because on my previous set of wheels mounted since inception (august 2010), TPMS
worked perfectly.
What's that story now ? Whistle 2010 TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black Tan Full Leather

By valves, I take it that you mean the TPMS sensors.

Never heard of sensors needing programming. The sensors periodically measure the pressure and temperature of the air inside the tire plus the centripetal acceleration acting on the sensor. These measurements are transmitted periodically via RF signals at either 315 MHz or 433 MHz to the RF receiver located behind the overhead console.

If the sensor is replaced on a 'running' wheel, the new sensor identification will be learnt when the vehicle is first driven at a speed of more than 12.5 mph (20 km/h) for 15 minutes. If a new sensor is fitted to the spare wheel, the identification for that sensor must be programmed into the CJB using a Land Rover approved diagnostic system or that wheel will not be monitored. The code is provided on a label with the complete wheel and tire assembly when new and is also printed on the casing of each sensor.

So what new program are they talking about? Laughing Malaysia Boleh!

I don't know. With my winter wheels, TPMS worked perfectly. Now they say it needs programming (and they charged me 42 € for that).
Why the hell these valves should need programming ? 2010 TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black Tan Full Leather

You can replace the valve on some without replacing sensors,& some systems need reprograming when a new tyre or sensors is fitted. Thumbs Up

Sorry, I was under the impression that quantz was referring to original LR valves with sensor. Sad

Thats taking the sensors out of the equation! Smile

Why would you do that when you don't need ANY reprogramming in the first place? Laughing Malaysia Boleh!
