Hi,


I've been an avid reader of this forum since last fall, and a proud owner of an RRS since a few weeks. My No.1 mod is getting a few iPods and a computer in my RRS. Before I had the car, I was thinking about fitting an extra screen in front, but as this would ruin the "cockpit view", I'm now convinced that somehow I've got to tap in on the nav screen.

I know about the Nav TV option, but composite video is no acceptable solution for a carputer (I tried it out on a few extra 7" screens I bought to toy with). If you search the Internet for video hacks on Denso systems in Toyota's, Lexus and American cars, you'll see that Denso and others consistently use RGB + composite sync to get the video from the nav cpu to the screen (don't worry about getting this videosignal out of an iPod or computer, that's easy!).

So i got my seat up to the front to get a view on the nav computer. It has a small coax cable for the GPS antenna, and a fiber optic for the communication with the car and sound. Furthermore there is a large cable with rather thin and rather thick cables. Because video needs thicker cables, I concentrated on those. They come as two seperate bundels of two cables with a 3rd one that's partly stripped and therefore should be the shield. What worries me is that the colour scheme is not red-green-blue, but someting completely different.

So my question is: does anybody have *any* info regarding those cables. If I can find the right ones, I'm pretty sure I can build a suberb quality system with source selection on OEM-style dashboard switches for very little money.

@ ST: we don't have freeview in Belgium, but similar stuff. I don't have the attention span required for messing with those, I leave that to my daughter


About this warranty thing: I tried to source the Tyco connector, so I could blow up the damned thing if needed, but I found only one supplier who sells them in quantities of 500 or more

HD - am in Belgium also (Lasne) - I'd be happy just getting an iPod connected...this said, I'm guessing that the fiber optic backbone on the Range Rover is similar to what Volvo uses and that one is literally impervious to any sort of "integration"....

I'd like the V10 from the M5 in my RRS and the SMG3 gearbox to go with it. Is that something you can help me with?
