DPF Full

A while ago a recall reading a post by a member who had to abandon his car whilst offroading due to a message telling him to do a regeneration drive to empty the DPF, obviously not possible in an offroad situation

There has been a bit of a thread going on Freel2 due to constant warning message coming on FL2 just with normal driving

Today the following was posted about a box of tricks that fools the car into thinking it's still got a DPF after it's been removed, so I thought it might be of some interest to Some, not alot of details but thought I would make you aware something is been done

I have tried everything starting from 2sO from the purchase day, Ultimate Diesel, high-rev driving. That gave only temporary relief. Now I have got the only real solution to the recurring DPF-problems and engine going into limp mode.. The DPF has benn removed from my car and a electronic-box simulating the presence of DPF has been installed on my car. If this will be a lasting solution remains to be seen since I am not sure the box (similiar to a tuning-box) can outwit the ECU initiating 'milaege'- and cold-start-number regenerations. I am in the testing phase..

Bloody DPF systems ! One of the main reasons that I got rid of my XF and went for an older RRS with the 2.7, it struck me as funny that the LR dealer couldnt actually tell me which models had DPF. I loved the extra ooooomph of the 3.0 but there are some weeks where my longest trip is only 8 miles and with it now being holiday season it can take an hour to get to a motorway to drive the 50 miles non stop to re gen the system, just struck me, I had the Jag for 12 months and covered 8k in it.........over 500 miles of that was DPF re gen !
