2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Why would anybody who can afford to buy/run a £40-£50k car want to run it on wheels that are 2nds, risking not only their own safety but that of other motorists on the roads?

OK so it may be that the clearcoat isn't perfect.......... but for all you know it could be that the wheels taken off the line for testing/xray may not be properly cast or has an internal defect that has led to a whole batch being rejected. Tim - if they were that bad I would imagine they would be scrapped altogether. Guess they are not 100% perfect in finish Confused

Agreed, I can't imagine they would let unsafe seconds out onto the market. I'm sure the legit seconds that TB talked about are simply not up to the mark from a visual perspective. After you've kerbed them all 10 mins after putting them on, it won't matter anyway! Laughing

Hi Bobs_buggy - I see you are from Hinckley & presume you bought your car from Triniyt ?

I live in Nuneaton ( just ) and again just a stones throw from Trinity.

When do you pick your car up ?

I too have a Supercharged & believe this is what your awaiting........

Did you deal with Bill @ trinity ?

Ref " Stormers " .............. the spare on a S/C is only a 19 - this is the maximum size that can be fitted underneath the car.

I have found this to be the worst car for knackering your alloys - they are so easily scraped/chipped/damaged - so I will leave it for some time before I bother to repair them or even replace them?

I found Trinity to be the cheapest on tyres £199 + vat - as I had to replace one not so long ago [ details in my gallery ]

Ps

was that you in the queue for Bubbles & Babes on Sunday Shocked

MDP, Yes, it's Bill at Trinity that I'm getting the car from. I used a build slot that Trinity already had, which will cut down on the wait and avoid the price increase. I'm hoping for early to mid July.
I'm usually really careful with my wheels, but I think I'll keep the original s.c wheels to use as spares in the future.

Bubbles & Babes...............Hmmmm.............not me, honest Embarassed

By the way, I've been reading your thread about the problems you've had. Are they all sorted now? The last I read was that you still had a knock from the steering.

What are Trinity like for servicing etc?

Hmmm........
I must admit, the fuel consumption bothers me a bit. I've been looking at LPG conversions. I might go down that route once it's run in. It'll cost around £2600, and would pay back in less than 2 years at 12,000 miles per year (and save 1.9 tons of CO2 per year!)

Went to see Bill at Trinity on Saturday. He had some "Good news" for me.
Apparently, the car will be ready 6 weeks earlier than first thought, I may be able to pick it up a week Friday Laughing

We were looking at some of the e-mails that you sent him, Martin, with the pictures of written off RRS's. Impressive stuff!

He also told me about the time you came in with Tasmod sills, and he went into the office at the back to fetch the other guys out to have a look. I have mine waiting to be ftted.

I keep meaning to look out for you when I drive past your house (most days), but I guess I must still be half asleep at 7:00am, 'cos I forget every morning. RRS 4.2 S/C. Zermatt. Tints.
