Approved used car check details

Just wondering if anyone could help, does anyone have details of what items are looked at during the land rover approved multi point check.

I would be very interested in what they have to say about tyres and wiper blades as I have just had to have 2 new tyres fitted as they were borderline on the inside edges and only after a couple of weeks of ownership and less than 300 miles.

Also the rear wiper blade has split apart

Thanks in advance for any help 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography

I would have expected not to have to replace tyres or wiper blades for at least 6 months or 6k miles. But in reality, from personal experience with one particular St***stones dealership, I don't believe any of the checks that they say were carried out, actually were. Even when I pointed out things that should not be present on an approved used car(like an oil leak, and an air con refrigerant leak, a screw slowing down a puncture in a tyre) Whistle , they didn't attend to them, and unless it was something that cost only 5 pence to fix, they didn't want to know. Needless to say, I never purchased the vehicle. I think you would be within your rights to claim something back ,but why didn't you take it back and show them the state of the tyres etc? RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i

Just read your post on dealership feedback, Ok 40 odd miles away, I can understand not driving back. I see that they'd already compensated you for a shed load of other stuff that you had to point out to them, which re affirms my point about them basically not looking at or fixing anything, and hoping any future purchaser is a complete and utter numbnut when it comes to cars, and won't notice anything wrong. I think its probably about as comprehensive as the new car check list.

1) Steering Wheel
2) Doors
3) Wheels
4) Seats.

Think thats all they think we look at !

Sorry to hear you've had to change already I would definitely be going back to the stealer ! Smile

Yep a fair way to travel and a waste of half a day, the only thing that made me keep the car and not accept their offer of a refund was the fact that I liked the car so much and I had looked at some others at other main dealers that were in a worse state inside and out, it would seem that condition of bodywork and interior do not mean to much in land rovers used approved car check as all the other dealers were not really prepared to do everything I wanted to the cars to satisfy me, they just said it's a second hand car, guy Salmons were the only ones who were prepared to do everything I wanted. Perhaps I am being to picky, but then I was a cash buyer looking at 30k+ cars and I like things to be right.

They are having it back again shortly to reprogram a spare key and replace the rear Range Rover trim that they painted and is now losing the paint as it is flaking.

Once that is done and now it has decent tyres it will look like a brand new car, just the private plate to sort then 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography
