Having just read Jo's post about waiting for her paint from LR to sort her chips out I had a thought, what is going to happen to all of us if we need a paint job and there is no Santorini or any of the others that are now unavailable due to lack of supply from Japan?

Thats strange Ive rung around a few and nobody has the mix "recipe" or whatever because apparently LR have not released it yet. I called 4 different people too. Plus its not just LR that will be suffering the shortage. |

I wondered about that a week ago...fortunately i dont have a discountued colour - but still seeing two very small stone chips in a month i did think how people would manage when their colour isnt avaliable.

halfords paint is and won't be anything like the quality of standard but alot of paint companies like du pont, sikkens etc when mixed will be as good quality as standard |

So if everyone else can get it why not LR or is it just a case of increased cost? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

They cant - they get different pigments to make a similar/matching colour using the pigments they have
I personally think they are all bad when compared to properly applied, properly layers genuine paint - whilst i would agree that halfrauds paint is poor - actually the 2 times i have used it (a discontinued colour and a generic black for something) it hasnt been bad Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Which is why 3rd party repairs tend to be visible...but those usinging genuine paint haven't been...I didn't believe it until I was shown. Mike
