Gearbox/Transmission Up date patch

Hi all
I read on a eatlier post that LandRover dealerships can do a update patch on the auto transmission to cure the shunts. anyone have any idea how much they charge just to reset the transmission or update it?? Have doubleflushed the gearbox but still have the shunt Rolling Eyes

hey! got the same problem....my dealer just sent me an offer...200 euros (about 180 pounds) for remapping the gearbox, suspension and brakes...i don't know if they will update the software or just reset it...but i think that's reasonable since i'm having problems with the back end being too bouncy, shunts in the gearbox and when it has attitude problems it won't even change gears....it drives me mad! will post back after the works and let you know if that solved my probs....cheers!

Booked motor in this wendsday for a gearbox/transmission reset & update hopefully it will sort it. Local dealership said it would possibly fix the shunt for a while but it would more than likley returne as most of the range rovers have this problem Surprised Confused Bye the way have not booked it in with dealership ive booked in at AllTrack4x4 they are checking oil levels & update/ reset £45.00 Hopefully it will feel a bit better...

Have you also tried having a gearbox fluid and filter change? Although LR say they are sealed for life - that "life" is in fact 3 years and certainly over on the FFRR forums a lot of people are find that a change of fluid and filter clean + top up have also cured slipping or jerky gearboxes 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The filter is part of the pan. No option to buy seperately.

The flushing ofthe gearbox certainly makes a huge difference, but in some cases, the AutoBox fluid gets contaminated by Glycol from the radiator when it gets a tiny leak.
This will deteriorate the ATF fluid and potentially it will trash the Torque converter in the autobox.......... Bodsys Brake Bible

had mine done too....in fact i had the entire car re-softed....engine, brakes, gearbox, suspension....everything. it's very smooth....no bangs in the gearbox, no more lag in shifting....but still, one problem remained....rear shock absorbers are trashed....Sad orderd a pair at my local stealer and have to wait 3 weeks for them to ship....in the mean time...my 22'' vertini's have arrived and don't know what tire to purchase 295/30 or 295/35???

Mine are 285-35-22's 112V rated 30's will be far too hard and won't offer any protection of your wheels. Thumbs Up

yeah....i thought of that but my rims are 11J" wide and i think 285 might be a bit too narrow....and 35% out of 285 is almost the same as 30% out of 295....so the side wall is 1 cm thinner on 295/30 opposed to 285/30....but if i can i'll go for the 295/35....and hope they won't rub....in theory they shouldn't
