Disable? Park Distance Control with a bike rack fitted

Guys,

I have a bike rack fittled to the tow hitch on my Sport, because the bike rack is pretty close to the bumper and the central sensors the PDC beeps all the time when I select reverse.

Does anyone know how to disable PDC (ideally just for the middle sensors).... ?

Thanks

Andy

unless you are using the electrics, it can't be done... but you can manually disable them with the on/off button on the front consol...will have to do it after selecting reverse tho.. Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

Any way to use a trailer harness to spoof the system into thinking I have a trailer attached (it will disable PDC in that case) ?

If you are using the bikerack as I thing you are, with it just connected to tow bar and not wired up, then I am afraid you are breaking the law!! The bikes will obscure the brake lights, and if someone runs into the back of you then the insurance won't pay!!! For the sake of a hundred quid it would be wise to get it wired up.

Not sure about that!!! Think I would rather have lights on my rack, than some guy in a mack truck rearranging the rear end!!!

I go to the states reasonably often, have friends there (US and UK)

There is no way i would live there, no way do i think its a very developed country nor do i think its societally sound/great

But it does have some good points; you are free'er, you dont have the nanny state, people respect your rights to enjoy things that are different (lets say eg: off roading and driving v8's)

If we had to live somewhere...and we are toying with the move...in NZ all the way Mike
