Thanks RRUK.

I've got Pirelli Scorpions on my 19"s at the moment and they seem to be ok but I have no idea how long these will last vs Contis Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I'd agree with Umbertob, I've had a pair of Contis up front now for about 3 months and the side walls do seem to take a beating much more so than the Wranglers I had there originally. There's not much evidence of tread wear on them yet (and they've done about 3000 miles so far) though so as long as I don't do anything silly with them I should be OK. The rears (still Wranglers) are soldiering on and still have 7mm on them (they've gone 12k now). There are only a few options for the Stormers, but as RRUK says it's worth paying the extra to get decent tyres.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver

The front n/s tyre on my Jeep is wearing on the outside edge. Apparently this is very common on 4x4's and is a symptom of going around roundabouts, where the majority of wear takes place. Well, that was what I've read somewhere, If it's true then cars driven on the right would suffer wear on the other side (which, come to think of it is still the n/s, but on the other side!).
Except America, of course, 'cos they don't have roundabouts.

I would think this is a bit of a myth unless you spent all day driving around roundabouts! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I can't help thinking that there could be some truth in this. After all, having 2.5 tons of car, with most of the weight on one tyre, with physics trying to dictate the direction of travel (and the driver trying to steer in another direction). There must be infinately more friction/wear than if going straight ahead for hours at a time on the motorways.

Tim, this is a valid point.

Is this the dealer can easily tell me based on VIN no?

If not fitted, how big/expensive a job is it? Would it need a whole new rack or just a damper fitting? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
