Well what ever the problem is it will be sorted out, main thing is i did as the dealership suggested.

Owning a RRS is a love/hate relationship........

I would be very weary of his opinion. I only say this as this is what the LA man told me was wrong with mine at the roadside. I turned out it was the rear diff. He told me it was the brake shoes without even examining the car properly. Just as I booked it in for fixing the dealership spotted the it was the rear diff !

Nik,

I have exactly the same issue with mine.

It comes on after approx 45-50 mins of driving and a light touch on the brakes stops it so I was thinking stone between the disc and pad. When I checked there was a massive score across the near side rear brake disc but nothing between the disc and pad.

The brakes were needing done anyway so it is in today to have new discs and pads and i'll see if it clears up but will follow this post if you could update with whatever LR have to say about it. Thumbs Up

Nik,

While mine was getting the brakes done yesterday I asked my mechanic to investigate it for me and he came back with an instant response as he has a D3 himself. 'The brake shoes for the EPB are too tight' he says.

Apparently on most EPBs (non LR) a garage would fully tighten the brake shoes and then loosen it off four 'clicks' and this would then be good to go. On RRS and Disco it needs to be loosened off nine 'clicks' meaning that if the brake shoes were done by someone not familiar with LR then they would be too tight and would rub causing the squeek. He found this out the hard way on his own Disco.

He has repeated the correct procedure on my EPB shoes and i've not heard the squeek since. Result Thumbs Up

Hope this helps

Car went into dealers today so hopefully it will be sorted out by close of play tomorrow.
Last time she was in my loan car was an Astra Censored
This time however i was given a brand new RRS HSE Mr. Green
Engine seems much more responsive, interior much more modern and the reverse camera is superb, I might not want to hand it back Very Happy 2015 Golf R DSG

When you drive and older RRSport it feels great until you get in to the new one which feels like a different car altogether, much further advanced than the old one, just imagine just how many more things there are to go wrong Rolling Eyes some of my Previous cars

Picked the car up Friday night Smile wing mirror fixed, rocking seat fixed, wheels balanced but the bloody park brake shoes are still making a squeal Mad
It used to take around 45 mins of driving before it started, now it's around 20 mins.
Bloody hacked off as its a pain getting the car to the dealers and now i have to take it in again. 2015 Golf R DSG
