Tyres

Time to replace the tyres. I know nothing on this subject. Can anyone recomend a brand? the choice and price range seems bewildering. Thought I'd stick with the factory fitted Good Year (managed 40K on them) however there seems to be delivery problems I'm told.
Suggestions welcome.

i would stick with the goodyears if you got that milage!! i changed from continentals to goodyears (excellence) last week to see if i can get more wear out of them! i paid £182 at national tyres in ayr, which was the same price as budget quoted for wranglers (but they only have a load rating of 102 compared to 106 for the GY excellence in 20")

cheers

I'm running 18's awd man and prefer the slightly softer ride.
You got them in Ayr Dave. I'm in Prestwick so will check it out thanks.

watch yourself,if you have a insurance claim & they check your tyres they could refuse to pay out if you only have load rating 102 instead of 106/107 Wink

Andy
my post might not have read properly, i went for the 106 load rateing of the GY excellence, in 20" the wrangler only goes up to 102,so rejected that as an option. i would think that if you go down to standard 19s or 18s the load would probably be availiable in 106 as there seems to be more heavy 4x4s that use that size
(ill be honest and say that i had no idea about ratings until i got this car, i thought it was just v,w z speed ratings etc Embarassed )
cheers
