Holiday in this country at a cost of £400 in fuel!

£1.41 per litre here in Cornwall

Thought I’d help our economy this year and take a holiday in this country what better place to go than Cornwall? Added advantage of the drive from Essex all the way down there and back in my new (to me 55plate S/C) Loved every mile so far!

We’ve covered a touch under 700 miles so far with the journey down (335 miles) and driving every day since we’ve been here. Cost of fuel so far £247 I still have about 170 miles left in the tank that’s about half a tank full! We have two days of driving here to do and the drive back 335 miles. I’m paying £1.41 a litre here (for the good stuff Shell V-Power) so holidaying in this country will have cost me about £400 in fuel alone! That’s got to be taking the P Censored ss

Ok…ok should have bough the TDV6 I here you shout!! But at these prices going up and up the way they are we wont be able to afford to drive even the most economic of cars in a few years time! Taking a penny off a litre isn’t going to help they need to half the cost per litre to really make a difference!

Guys its time to start putting pressure on our governments to reduce these ridiculously high fuel prices with the most powerful thing we all have – our votes! Cheers Laurence.

I would vote for the "take tax & duty off fuel party"

The weather has been wonderful thanks! we've been on the beach today it was almost 70 degrees! Such a lovely place to come shame the National Trust has to spoil it by wanting to charge you every time you need to park the car everywhere you go at £3+ a time! Robbing b Censored ggers

I'm frightened to stop at a red light with out first checking if I have any change in my pocket!! Rolling with laughter

I averaged about 18/19mpg on the way down was driving enthusiastically between 70 & 90 once off the M25 Rolling with laughter Now it's gone down to 16mpg with all the country lane driving that’s an over all mpg. Properly 10/11mpg around the narrow lanes, it all stop start work, up & down very steep hills. I didn't reset the computer when I got here, I wanted to do an over all average mpg when I get home. Cheers Laurence.

Lovely part of the world - some lovely beaches!

How do you get on with driving down all these very narrow lanes? Wasn't sure if if people were looking at me coz they liked the car or because they were thinking that it was too big to drive around the narrow lanes!!

You must know of some great off road places to go?? Cheers Laurence.

......maybe i'm missing your point Buster007, how exactly does voting help the situation Question Labour were clearly anti-motorist, the "coalition" is the next 2 big parties on offer, we know that they are probably not as anti-motorist as the prior but are certainly not going to reduce a guaranteed money stream into HMRC coffers aka vehicle fuel taxation.

The Greens want us all to go back to Neandertal days, no debates they are simply deranged............what others exist that are not laughable Question Diddly squat from where i'm looking.

In this great democratic society, voting is ineffective and futile. Action is the only solution, unfortunately we are not a nation for that, so effectively we are utterly screwed! Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

........£2.00 a litre here we come Embarassed I say, enjoy the Supercharger whilst you can.......oh and maybe take a last loving look at Cornwall when you leave, give it a few years and their bread and butter aka tourists will be but a long lost meal ticket........sad but true, the implications of heftier fuel prices spells doom for such places that have no other income means.

Crikey, is Spring really here......I still feel mid winter emotionally Wink L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
