Do I Have a Friday PM Built RRS?

My RRS - 2006 on a 56 - Suspension knocks, seats move under breaking, exhaust valve faulty (light on dash), rear bumper replaced following roundabout knock 4 weeks ago and now parking sensors don't work, random display of Airbag fault, shocking phone reception on Bluetooth, windows randomly decide not to work, rubber seal falls off fuel cap needing credit card to open, ruptured radiator, tailgate switch breaks, low coolant warning despite being fine...... This is all within the last 18 months. Normal or not?

In contrast I also have a Lexus RX300 SE-L (2003) - Now done 103K miles, nothing spent on it apart from regular servicing, tyres and brakes.

FB - I think you've been particularly unlucky, although many of us on here seem to have experienced one or more of those faults.

My 2005 55 plate HSE V6 has had a litany of faults in the 20 months that I have owned it;

Cruise control working randomly
FBH not working
Alternator failed
Park Sensors replaced at front and wiring loom replaced (not covered by 3rd party warranty Big Cry )
Suspension knocking x2, once was steering rack ball joints and once was ARB bushes
Random airbag warning (faulty crash sensor)
EGR Valve replaced
Passenger door lock pack replaced
HDC fault/car lowered/no special programs/no speedometer - traced to faulty wiring loom (not covered by 3rd party warranty Big Cry )

Happily all repaired under warranty (mostly) and car is 100%. I am now in a catch 22 situation, have I sorted all the problems and should I keep the car - or should I just get something more reliable??

Evil or Very Mad that is not to bad just rejected my 2010 Sport TDV8 there is not enough room on here for the problem lists , all of which bar two faults were / are factory build faults, wires not connected , loose inter-cooler pipes , loose suspension bolts. Car that shakes above 60mph ( Land rover stated its the way 2010.5 cars are ! what a croc, will not start when its cold, the list goes on and on. Then the usual stuff i would expect which are problems we have all had that Land Rover never seem to fix from one year to the next but we put up with because usually the rest of the car is spot on. The list is massive after 5000 miles gave up Land Rover a waste of time on Customer service make loads of promises then all they do is shove it back on to the dealer with there usual get out. Censored

Dealer has been spot on by the way trying to sort but even they admit they have never seen so many major problems with a new car. 2014 5.0SC AB

Gone 5.0 SC

As I'm fond of saying, you buy a LR inspite of its reliabity, not because of it!! I've been driving LRs since 1981 and owned them since 1989 but the present one could well be the last. I just don't need the hassle any more. If anyone out there is thinking "I haven't had any problems" just follow it up with a silent "yet!". Whistle

Now add Alternator fault to the list ;-(. I see my dashboard as a monthly advent calendar. Every month a new light appears relieving me each time of what I would spend on Christmas.

well my 2011 MY is back at the stealers again today. likewise the faults are endless but the mainly its a repetitive desire to go into limp home mode, almost constanctly since Dec 09. Despite multiple attempts to fix including a factory sponsored re build of the software, it fails on a daily basis (and 3 times yesterday, M40,A43 A605). This has resulted in an action to get the car replaced at no cost to me despite the 32,000 miles and 15 months of ownership. LR are looking to offer some money, the dealer is keen to get rid and i refuse to pay a penny towards the replacement, however, my legal friends tell me that compensation will be restricted to getting market value for the vehicle so any other cash incentive is conditional and only a gesture of goodwill. Evil or Very Mad My 2010MY RRS 3.0 TDV6SE is Nara Bronze with Almond leather, straight grain walnut trim, 20" 15 spoke alloy's, mood lighting and power fold mirrors Gone
