Front wishbone ball joints.

Anyone had their knock diagnosed as coming from these? If so did you have new wishbones or just the ball joint and did it cure it?

My knocking noise came from the anti roll bar brushes. Getting them fix next week. Ask your local garage to have a look at them RRS TDV8, 22 rims, Privacy Glass, Premuim ICE plus Leather, Sun Roof, Stornoway Grey.

Did you just change the ball joints or replace all the wishbone though? Was it a warranty job and any idea of cost involved?

Front wishbone ball joints

I went through two sets of anti roll bar bushes and the knock kept coming back after a few months, finally changed the lower wishbones and the knock has gone completely. At the time it was cheaper for me to change the complete wishbone rather than trying to change the bushes in the wishbone, worked out cheaper. New Wishbone comes complete with new ball joints.

New Wishbone £112.00 inc Vat - From main dealer.

You will also need to get your tracking done after fitting these roughly £100

Mines had three sets of arb bushes, noise goes away for a few thousand miles then comes back again, went into dealership recently and they told me it needs the damper kit fitted, which may or may not cure he knock but was not covered by the £900 warranty I just put on it as it was a modification, I argued this possible cure should surely be done foc as a recall, bad show from land rover.

I have had arb bushes replaced twice and dampers fitted under warranty on my MY10 and its only got 10k on it, last done in November and they justed started knocking again, so dampers wont cure the problem Shocked Shocked MY10 3.0 HSE Santorini Black, Ivory Premium & extended leather, privacy, paddles, diamond turned alloys, Ipod lead that charges, tasmods, rrsport.co.uk stickers

Thanks JC1, no point spending well over £100 if it's not going to cure the problem.
