If you hit the refresh button then select the re-try it brings the previous search results page up. It will only do that on page 1 of your search results, once onto page 2 onwards of the search results the back button will work perfectly (on windows).

Hope this helps! 2007 RRS TDV8 Stornaway Grey with lots of smiles..

Im going to do this as soon as the weather picks up, i wasnt aware that there are springs in the front doors?. I have complete 1 piece handles to replace and was advised of this procedure, is anything missing :-

Removal
1. Remove cap (not bothered if they break as have new ones)
2. Pull the handle outwards then slide it back towards the rear whilst held in the open position. The handle will disengage and can be removed along with the seals.

Fitting.
1. Push in the rear of the main handle
2. Angle the front of the handle towards the front of the car and slot in
3. Slide the handle forwards to lock in place
4. Fit the cap

The only deviation was the passenger side front door which needs the key to remove the cap.

Will using this procedure work fine or is a step / tip missing?

Thanks

Carl

handle change

HI CARLOS THE INSTRUCTIONS YOU HAVE LISTED ARE NOT QUITE RIGHT

1,REMOVE SMALL SCREW COVER SECTION

2,SLIDE MAIN HANDLE BACKWARDS AND YOU WILL HEAR IT RELEASE THEN PULL HANDLE OUT WARDS

3, TO REPLACE USE A THIN PIECE OF STRONG CORD /FISHING GUT LOOP IT IN THE HOLE CLOSEST TO EDGE OF DOOR AND HOOK IT AROUND THE LEVER INSIDE AND PULL TOWARDS YOU IT WILL TAKE TENSION OFF SPRING. THEN WHILST HOLDING PUT NEW HANDLE IN PLACE PUSH IN FLAT AGAINST CAR AND SLIDE FORWARD UNTILL CLICKS IN PLACE.THEN PULL CORD OR GUT OUT AND REPEAT.

4.PASSENGERS DOOR YOU WILL NEED TO UNDO LOCK COVER THEN PULL RUBBER BUNG FROM DOOR EDGE INSERT TORQE BIT IN HOLE AND UNDO SCREW LOCK WILL THEN COME OUT TIP LEAVE TORQE BIT ON SCREW HEAD ITS EASIER TO REPLACE LOCK LATER

HOPE THIS HELPS Thumbs Up 2005 HSE 2.7 RRSport loaded with 2010 goodies

Hi td6006

Just a few double checks since a well respected member of the D3 site swears blind that its not necessary to hook the lock mechanism even when i double checked with him.

1. When you say remove the small screw cover do you mean the little cap that each handle has that always snaps?

2. After sliding the handle back over do i need to pull the back part of the handle out away from the car then pull the handle out or just pull the whole handle outwards?. The LR guide shows the handle pulled out on an angle.

3. Sound ok, i just want to check that this is necessary even when im not taking the door trims off from the inside?

4. I am told that 2 turns of the screw is enough, do you agree?

Thanks in advance

Carl

reply carlos50

HI
YES I DO MEAN SMALL COVER THAT ALWAYS BRAKE

YES YOU HAVE IT PULL THE BACK PART OF HANDLE OUT FIRST AFTER YOU HAVE SLIDEN BACK TO RELEASE

I HAVE NOT DONE LOCK HANDLE YET BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO UNSCREW ALL THE WAY IF YOU CAN GET HANDLE OFF WITHOUT DOING SO.

I PULLED ONE ON MY HANDLES OFF JUST NOW AND ON MY CAR 2005 ONE PIECE HANDLES HAN TO PULL HANDLE SPRING WITH GUT OR CORD TO REPLACLE, WILL NOT GO BACK IN OTHERWISE.

REGARDS AND GOOD LUCK TD6 2005 HSE 2.7 RRSport loaded with 2010 goodies

Hi td6006

I was all set to do the change today until i realised that my torx bits that come with my socket set have an adaptor that attaches them to the screw driver handle and it was too large diameter to fit in the hole to unscrew the screw a few turns.

What torx size is the screw on the passenger do so i can buy a screw driver specifically for this task please?

HANDLE REMOVAL

HI CARLOS SORRY BEEN AWAY, YOU WILL NEED A T25 BIT BUT THE ONLY THING THAT WIL FIT IS AN ACTUAL T25 SCREWDRIVER, IT IS THE ONLY THING SMALL ENOUGH TO GO THROUGH THE HOLE , TIP MAKE SURE YOU ONLY UNDO THE SCREW A COUPLE OF TURNS IF IT FALLS OUT YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK IN.HOPE THIS HELPS IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE JOB Thumbs Up 2005 HSE 2.7 RRSport loaded with 2010 goodies
