I dont know if its the same on 2010- but I have a 2007 and managed to do mine without removing the bumper even though the instructions said to. The only things I removed where the spare wheel, passenger side rear light cluster and boot trim. A metal coat hanger was a big help too, for poking the cabling through on two places.

The chaps that did mine (2010) did not remove bumper, but took just about every panel off inside! I was worried about squeaks and rattles, but it all went back like new! The spare wheel was removed, but that might have been just to make the routing in the boot floor easier

Thanks mate...I couldn't tell where it terminated as I hadn't at that point fully removed the bumper...it was attached just below the bumper line to the rear body about below the door seal on the left side.

To remove my tread plate, all I had to do was have the boot open and grab the front of the plastic tread plate (nearest to boot rubber seal) and give it a good pull towards you whilst lifting it up. This will then allow you to remove the plate from the bumper. I have done it on a few RRSports and none of the clip parts of the tread plate have broken. Just dont be shy in pulling it towards you.

I think thats the key for me. A friend once said you usually do more damage trying to be careful than just doing the job normally... Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |
