United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
TDV8 Dynamic Response programme

Hi Guys,

I need some help from those of you who have a TDV8 with dynamic response

So every time I am out of the car for a long period the terrain response goes back into normal mode, however 7 times out of 10 on only leaving the vehicle for short periods the car stays in dynamic response.

Can someone tell me if theirs defaults back to normal mode in these circumstancies.

Thanks Neil 2010 RRS TDV8 Overfinch GTS

Neil, I must be missing something here - but isn't the car always in Dynamic Response (auto anti roll bars). What is the connection between DR and TR ? RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

I don't know about the dynamic response system but with the terrain control, any time a "special" setting is selected (snow, mud....), the car will revert to the default one after a while being off... I assume it's should be the same thing with dynamic response as this is a "special mode"... Range Rover Vogue β€˜17 TDV6

1. Dynamic Response is designed to reduce the risk of rollover during tight turns. In the past, rollovers have been a major concern for many sport/utility vehicles. The reason behind this is simple: SUVs have a high center of gravity. Because of their height, high-speed maneuvering into tight corners can sometimes cause the vehicle to tip and roll. This problem is usually corrected by changing driving styles and maneuvering at lower speeds. The Range Rover Sport, however, is designed as a high-performance SUV. To maintain this performance, the Dynamic Response system was added.
How It Works
2. The Dynamic Response system works by sensing high-speed cornering forces and acting to compensate. The system is controlled by a computer. Sensors throughout the vehicle constantly measure G-forces, the forces affecting the SUV during tight cornering. These signals are sent to the computer. When cornering forces begin to roll the vehicle, the system automatically adjusts the air-spring suspension. This compensates for the roll and reduces pitch.
How This Helps
3. The Dynamic Response system is designed to adjust automatically, without driver input. Without this technology, a driver would have to constantly adjust his speed and cornering to keep the SUV on the road. Dynamic Response changes this, letting drivers focus on the road instead of worrying about managing rollover risk.

The system also helps during off-road use. If terrain requires extended wheel travel, the computer can loosen the suspension and give the wheels more freedom. Vehicles usually have suspensions tuned for either on-road or off-road handling, but not both. On the Range Rover, however, the Dynamic Response allows the driver to master both conditions. 2010 TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black Tan Full Leather

That was quite an education on Dynamic Response!!

I believe Neil is referring to a special program in Terrain Response.
MY2010 vehicles have added programs in the Terrain Response selection, one of which is Dynamic - not Dynamic Response!

Quote:
Dynamic Program in Terrain Response

This special program is associated with a driving style rather than a type of terrain. Choose this program for
exploiting the vehicle's full on-road potential, providing a more focussed and involved driving experience.

When selected, this program optimises the vehicle’s traction, handling and driveability characteristics for maximum feedback and responsiveness.

Neil, regarding your other issue I think it is normal if the ignition is switched off, the system will
default back to the General program after six hours period.

Bow down
Reverting to default is normal behaviour. Id like an option to keep it in its last config, though.
We had quite a lot of snoiw this winter for 3 weeks, and even if the RRS drove superbly with
all-weather tyres in normal mode, I re-selected each time snow mode. 2010 TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black Tan Full Leather
