Satalite Navigation speedsensor.

Can anyone tell me where the navigation speed sensor is located. My navigation has suddenly developed a faultwhere it no longer adjusts to vehicle speed, in fact the map is scrolling through much faster than vehicle speed.
Any assistance would be appreciated as to date dealer has no idea.

I would have thought the speed would have been calculated from the communication with the sattelites.

i.e. the system uses its gps position to place you on the map, and the software onboard just calculates your speed based on the distance travelled over the time between refreshing the satellite position.

Sounds like you may have a faulty gps unit which is feeding the wrong position info to the sat nav, resulting in the system thinking you are much further ahead than you actually are.

I do not know where the GPS sensor is though. Is the car under warranty? If so they may look to change the whole sat nav unit if the gps locator is built into it. Failing this, a reflash of the software may help, but if its a faulty gps locator, then that may not help at all, and it would require a hardware swap out. RRS 3.0D HSE 11MY - Fuji White, a few extras.
