Why not do what I have done,get a new one on contract hire fully serviced and let them worry about depreciation and any faults?
When I did the sums there was very little difference in cost and a lot less risk and hassle.

D4 or RRS really does boil down to what you need the car for I guess, I swapped my 08 RRS for an 09 D3 earlier this year. I have to say the disco is far more fuctional and the only thing I really miss is the TDV8 engine... not really an issue if you are going to compare 3.0 models.

There is no doubt the RRS looks more stylish from the outside but I find the disco far more comfortable and I don't feel the need to blast about all the time which will be good for my licence, not sure if this is down to the smaller engine on the disco or reduced handling!

I suspect I will get an 11 plate 3.0 next year but will it be an RRS or a D4....... good question, I really don't know but will wait and see how I feel next year, function or form?
