Assume they would be a direct replacement on a 2005 V8 (4.4) also?

(Probably a dumb question but hey...).

Is it easy to do yourself?

Yes they are the same fittinig on all pre MY10 cars, so are wholly interchangable...

I understand very easy to change, there are some how to's on this site.
