Sounds like the clock spring, go to the Disco3 site and do a search for the full info.

Also your S/C has adaptive cruise - you may have a problem in the sensor head in the lower front intake. Unfortunately if the sensor doesn't work or had cut out (like it does when we get about 3 flakes of snow) you don't revert to traditional style cruise. Check the plastic cover of the detector head isn't cracked and letting water into the unit 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Unfortunately my new car doesn't have the ACC like the last one so I cannot go out and have a look, but somebody else with the system should be able to help - from memory there were not any holes except at the back of the unit on the TDv8 Sport I had. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi Barry

I don't know if you have resolved this already, but I had an intermittent fault on the cruise control of my 55 plate V6 HSE which took Land Rover over 12 months to resolve (Glad I made them give me 2 years warranty when I bought the car 18 months ago). The problem that I had was the cruise control worked when it wanted to, sometimes it was fine all day, other times it stopped after 10 minutes. Usually a 'key out' reset was sufficient to get it working again - it never left any error message code in the cars computer either - just to make life more challenging.

I have had several switch packs and clock springs, the software has been updated to the latest version and then re-flashed on numerous occasions. Finally they took the ECU out of the car and discovered 'excessive' silica gel inside it. Once this was removed the cruise has worked faultlessly Surprised

Hi Barry

Not a clue, mine was done under warranty by the stealers. If I had to guess I would think it is under the black covers on the offside wing of the car near to the windscreen.

The service manager told me it was the main ECU that they opened and that there was excessive amounts of silica gel in there, possibly that was causing something to short/trip out? Nevertheless it has worked flawlessly since they did this Smile
