Slightly off topic but can anyone tell me how to remove the plastic sills to cut them so i can mount the brackets to fit the steps? |

just purchased some of these side steps,i am quite handy with a spanner and just wandered if one person can fit them and roughly how long to fit the pair.dont want to start them if it will take a while and slight chance of rain |

About an hour a side im told. Its the removal of the side sills and cutting of them that is my pain in the ar*e |

Took me about 1 hour 45 minutes to do the 1st side (just sussing everything out really) and an hour to do the other side, one person can do it fairly easy, just put vehicle on full height suspension, you don't need jacks, mine came supplied with the cut out sills, i wouldn't fancy having to cut the existing sills out though. Just give them a tug they are fitted with plastic clips that usually break but don't worry because you should of been supplied with new ones in the kit. Ady |

My kit didnt have the new sills in it, im relying on taking the existing ones off and cutting them then refitting. I have bought 12 x new clips incase they do break but the sills look securely fastened, do i simply pull from underneath and they will come loose? |

Yep, which side steps did you buy then? ive thrown my old sills in a skip you could of had them to cut out before you started the job, have you got templates to cut out the sills then? Ady |

I bought a set of used genuine LR steps for a great deal because the bolts & nuts were missing. I sorted that relatively easily (i hope).
