Jumping back into a RRS

OK RS4 is now sold so I'm going to go for a new shape RRS. So as i have been out of the frame for some time i need some advice.
Going to buy one that is around 12 months old give or take. Is it the same as previous HSE spec only. What other goodies are a must on the RRS.

Also V6 or V8. Is it worth forking out that bit extra for the V8. My previous 2 RRS's were V8's. Is there much difference .

I had a Disco4 courtesy car and found the V6 much better than the old one but no match for my TDV8

It was quick enough but felt pretty highly strung, for a big car it just didnt suit as the V8 does

Test drive is prob the best way

Cheers

I thought the new V6 was meant to be a vast improvement from the last one.

I bought 10MY 3.0 TDV6 and it is massive improvement on old 2.7 Thumbs Up

The interior is more upmarket too Very Happy

On paper V6 0.2 sec slower 0-60 mph, 6 mph slower (but who wants to do 130 mph in uk) and 20% Fuel saving compared to V8 - not to mention higher purchase price/insurance Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Depends what you want - I swayed between SE/HSE but felt in the end that although not fussed about little extra luxuries/toys HSE would probably be more sought after when I come to change Thumbs Up

I am having to buy some 19" wheels for winter though (same as SE) because the HSE 20's are suicidal in this weather Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
