Otherwise known as a torque converter, not the traditional manual clutch that I presumed was meant MY07 TDV8 HSE (BAS Remap), Java, Privacy Glass,Tasmods. |

It could be that the gearbox/ transmission fluid is contaminated or low and that could cause the same effect as a slipping clutch for an auto gearbox. IIRC LR gearboxes used to be what they termed "Sealed for life" but it has been found that a change of gearbox/transmission fluid after a few years enhances gearbox performance. I would steer clear of a car as new as a 58 plate that is having gearbox problems - they are not common in any automatic Land Rover but they aren't unheard of either! Also is the selling dealer a franchised dealer or a not - as a 58 plate the car might have some LR Warranty left on it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Automatics do have clutches, just not as you imagine a manual clutch to be?

Thank you(UK GUY) you took the words right out of my mouth (Nik) the dealer who told you that where clearly unfamiliar with the Land Rover product and where no doubt trying to hide something more sinister i presume.
