Disco 4 - how much?

As we all do from time to time, I have been speccing cars online this evening - just did a HSE Disco4 with all options and it came out at £58,545 Thud Thud Thud

LR are having a laugh!!!

I know what you mean I did the same on a my11 FL2 HSE and that came out in the £40k's

I was thinking of a D4 next but at those sort of prices I would have to look at a base spec D4

It is a ridiculous price. I said I'd never buy brand new again but getting a new car out the wrapper always makes you smile... until it loses half it's value.

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

RRS and D4 prices here are now $20k more than two years ago.....that's close to a 20% increase.

The Australian $ is much strionger against most currencies so prices should be stable or decreasing. LR are charging what they think the market will take. Good luck to them, I don't think I will play the game by buying new again. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Nick - I did the same for the FL2 as you - really pricing me out of the market completely - but clearly thats not an issue with there current production figures

thats pretty much what happened here with the new model, although there is much more standard kit than before, if and when the next gen rrs comes out and if they have the same price hike, i dare say it will push it way beyond my budget!
you are correct about what they think the market will take, if you took all the countries they supply and compared the pre tax/vat prices there would be a huge difference - i bet they supply Oz cheaper than here but because of the various taxes you pay it works out dearer (i bought a car in holland a few years ago and the pre tax price was 25% less than here!!)

cheers

Mis

My conclusion was I'd only come back to LR for the big daddy

I have just ordered a new Touareg, due next year - trying to get a hybrid but may end up in a V8 diesel

Kaine nice choice what colour are you going for??

The BD my spec came out at 94K when you look at it like that 30k more and i could have my spec on a G55..................mind you can't afford either so it doesn't really matter. Sad Sad

when i sit a seriously think about it...............that is a serious amount to pay for anything especially a car, which in 3 years time will only be worth roughly half.

Black I think - I have placed an order for the hybrid, but still no dates confirmed so final spec is not decided. Like the idea of white, but not sure. Wifey is going to have the final call as its going to be her car

Bought an ex demo one for my sister about 6 months ago.
They had a D3 HSE before that and an RRS.
D4 drives and feels so much better then the D3 which wasn't bad itself.. So worth the extra money from the D3 to be fair. Quite a lot more standard kit, even if the ipod integration thing keeps breaking!

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

I priced up a new touareg V6 Altitude with some extra's but nothing OTT.

Came to £58k

Good luck with the Hybrid/V8 price

Rather be in a D4 or RRS than a £58k Touareg

I could get the New Cayene for £2k more (same spec) and only 200pcm more on finance.. RRS gone
Audi SQ5...Gone Audi Q7 S-Line 240 3.0TDI Gone
Audi A6 Allroad Sport 270 3.0TDI

The best deal i have seen recently.

Merc GL 350 CDI Bluetech, with Sport kit.
Brand new, 3 years: 3 + 35: £650pcm!!

Available to order right now.

Although not obviously the best looking car, it is a monster vehicle, and with a price tag way in excess of £60k with spec, this PCM is VERY highly subsidised!
Business/personal users..

Just went and searched the GL it's no looker, but spec wise it was good, liked the auto folding 3 row seats, just one press of a button and bobs your uncle Thumbs Up
