Lots of generic Range Rover Sport problems, but nothing specific to the Supercharged

I have a S/C and its just fine. As previous post there seems to be RRS issues rather than S/C ones so judge the individual car on its own merits.

Needless to say service history, mileage, condition etc all play their part. Get the best you can afford.

I havent had mine long but after a long and established list of prestige vehicles from LR, Porsche, BMW, MB etc i have to say the S/C RRS is right up there with the best i have had. Dealers arent though Sad

cheers for the replies good to know theres nowt specific to the supercharged , yeah seen and read up on few of the general l issues and faults so will be keeping me eye out for them , as for dealers i tend not to use any dearlers as find them in general to be overpriced for everything, my brother and old man are both spanner monkeys so they do all me work as i think payng the labour prices for them to be much more reasonable

vadmin why even bother putting that reply how was it constructive at all but thanks for your input Thumbs Up

Chilly, I dont really understand you comments in regards to not using a dealer. Surely you will buy form whoever has the ideal car for you. There aren't a great deal of S/C to choose from so i think you are Isolating your search criteria for no real reason and to say you dad can through a spanner round is a ridiculous statement Unless he has got a plug in diagnoses he will be a better man then i am as most of the RRS S/C problems are only readable with a fault code reader. If you want some unbiased advise where to buy from feel free to pm me being a dealer myself!

hey dom123y i was meaning more for servcing /fixing rather than actual buying, yeah as say me father and brother are both spanner monkeys have the own biss run from home were they have plug in diagnostics and four post lifts ect so im covered in that sense and a crate of larger is pretty good daily rate for labour i think lol
i will drop you a line mate probs in a few days when im back at my base location were i have better net , were bouts you working out of mate

Chilly

I would not buy on the basis that your dad can fix this car, they are very complex bits of kit and even LR techs cant sort them most of the time.

When you buy allow money for dealer labour rates and extremely high parts costs, if you don't you will not be able to own this car and enjoy it. LR software, expertise and parts will be necessary during ownership, you cant avoid that and to be honest if you have it serviced off your dad at home you wont sell it on for love nor money unless you drop its value accordingly.

Hope this doesn't sound harsh, its just reality mate.

Get a S/C they are fantastic but it will take a good sum of money to run / own aswell as buy.

hey carlos cheers for your reply , i do get what your saying but to be fair im hoping that it dont have to get fixed much lol noi i see what your saying and its a given that some time you will have to go to the dealers with no other option to , ref selling it on , to be honest by time im selling it on it wont matter bout who service stamp is in the book as it will be a fair few year down the line and of the age were then new owners will just be chuffed that it has some service history at all as it will probs be a run about to put his muddy dogs in
ref running cost yeah i know there not cheap but i do ok for me self so all good there and im only in uk for 3 month of the year anyway , but compared to what i have to drive round at work there very economical

oh and i never by things on iff me dad can fix them i buy them on how much fun i can have in them and how good they look hence this ticking the right boxes so far ,

oh and for all you off roaders im just back from a 200 mile desert trip same again tomorrow

Hi Chilly my wife runs a supercharged rrs and the problems they get are only minor but more nigly then anything as we constantly get warning lights which land rover just class as bugs in the system so merely just need a visit to the dealership to be reset more then anything. I probably wont be able to supply you a car but what i was saying as being in the trade i can point you in the right direction to a reputable dealership who will supply a good car at a decent price as i know all the good and bad dealerships out there. Pm me and ill send you my number for a bit of advise if not anything else.
