switching on sat nav

been to look at a car with touch screen/bluetooth; the unit looks exactly like the sat nav unit in another car i have viewewd

is it possible to have the sat nav enabled, or is it simply not present unless installed when the car is built?

Went to see the car again tonight. The screen shows radio cd/ 4x4 info but definitely no sat nav option. Does your post imply it can be enabled?

Doesn't stack up - is the disc in maybe?

I don't know how it would behave with no disc - may say no disc...

check under the passenger seat for the sat nav dvd

If it's there then
a: Check for a dvd in it
b: Check the plugs at the rear of the unit, they sometimes come lose

If no dvd reader then
a: It's been removed (if SE or HSE spec)
b: Someone's installed the head unit but not the sat nav reader RRS gone
