Car wont start, Doors lock and open, Engine fault and more.. | |
RR Sport TDV8 HSE 2007, last year just as it was getting colder we experienced a fault with the car. The faults were, when key in ignition the 4 way flashers would come on, the central locking went up and down more than a whores pair of knickers, hand brake fault, reduced traction, no power steering, limited gears available, no corner enhancing, car leaning when going into a corner, no programs available, no speedometer, no rev counter, temperature gauge off the scale and when it would start limited gears and 4 way flashers would operate. Land Rover technician came out to car and basically said it was F D. He also told us that there was another Range Rover had the same fault and Taggarts Motherwell could not get to the bottom of that one either. Our car was in and out at Taggarts for over 2 weeks and NOT a Range Rover Sport given as a replacement vehicle and NONE with a tow bar on one occasion they supplied us with a Citroën van. We asked at the time as it was coming to the end of the warranty (march 2010) if the repairs would be guaranteed for a year as is normal with repairs, they did inform us, yes well me the same bloody fault occurred last week. Same scenario, same faults, we contacted Taggerts who did not want to know. Contacted Land Rover who said Taggerts closed the file when the vehicle was returned to us in December 2009. They were going to look into it. Taggerts has since come back to us and said no they are not doing anything with it unless we pay for it. Do I really look George raft to put a car at £54.000 into a garage that could not repair the vehicle correctly and expect ME to pay for their technicians to fart about with it for the same length of time as they did last year. It has also had the suspension knock, the hand brake seize on at 70 plus miles per hour (NEVER USE THE STUPID THING). Tracking done incidentally there was more than 75% of the tread still visible but the wire was showing through on the inside corner. Had we been stopped by plod we would have been done with rta offences. While on this subject my previous vehicle one of the first Discovery TDV6 had the same issues, tracking, suspension and wiring issues. Surely Land Rover must know what causes these problems either that or the suppliers of these components are supplying shoddy materials resulting in a shoddy vehicle that is NOT FIT FOR THE PURPOSE IT WAS INTENDED. I have owned Land Rover products for approximately 25 years, 6 classic Range Rovers 2 Free Landers, 6 Discovery’s, and 1 pile of CRAP that is my Range Rover Sport. It would not be so bad if it had done the mileage that some of my previous vehicles have. This 1 has only done 60.000 and may I add the classics were far better vehicles and build quality than the present vehicle, Anyone got an awnser for this???
