I am also interested. Of course if it works with RRS. Can someone sign me up for this in dico3, as I do not have an account there and I dont want to create new account just for this.

Where can I get more info on this system? And I have a question. How does it drain car's battery? during winter in very low temperatures my battery tends to drain quite significantly and in the coldest days I have problems starting the car. Will it drain the battery even more? My name: Patryk

I do need to know if it works on the MY2010 model?

I believe the MY2010 HVAC is different to the earlier ones (which are the same as the D3, MY2010 is same as D4), and this is quoted as not being D4 compatible, so I would therefore presume the same is true of the MY2010 RRS. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I have to admit I am a bit bamboozled by this thread. Confused If someone could help that would be great.

I notice on the LR Topix site that my vehicle is fitted with "FUEL FIRED HTR". What is FUEL FIRED HTR and how do I use it? I see nothing in the owners handbook except for the Axillary Heater which I did *not* specify as an option. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Ilard, the fuel fired heater is standard on all Diesel RRS.
Because the modern Diesel are very efficient they need an auxiliary heater to warm up quickly and to keep the temperature.
It fires up automatically, in RRS up to 2009(but probably the same on later cars) when external temperature is below 5C and engine temp below 75C.
2010 and later have the option for remote start, to warm up the car before starting it, option not available on previous models. '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

ilard - there is a Webasto diesel-fuelled water heater fitted to all UK spec TDV6s. It is used automatically when the temperature is below 5 degC to assist with engine coolant warm up and therefore cabin heating.

The kits like the Danhag unit add the functionality of timer/remote pre-heat operation to the factory-fitted unit (which has no pre-heat functionality unless the option has been chosen on 2010MY+) Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

ah, thanks. So Land Rover wanted over a grand for that option, so I politely declined. But what we're saying is for 355 Euros we can get the bits that would enable us to control it via GSM SMS text message. Interesting. Anyone know if fitting such a unit would invalidate any part of the LR warranty? I may have to wait 3 yrs for this upgrade! L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I don't think the Danhag kit is compatible with the 2010MY+ - however Bell Autos (site sponsor) do a timed climate upgrade - worth dropping them an email or call Smile Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

When I got home last night the car was making a whirring noise behind the NS headlight like a gas boiler for about a minute or so after switching off, and also a little BBQ smelling smoke was wafting from under the bonnet.

I think I would have called the fire brigade! Laughing But I assumed, of course, it was the fuel burning heater we've been talking about here... and if not then... Shocked L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Here is the latest info I received from Danhag about the compatibility with the RRS

I checked out both wiring diagramms and they seem to be the same, so our
heater-blower-control box and the gsm-remote-control should work with the
range rover sport to.

I think is now time to get firm confirmation from interested people so we can start to order the kit '08 RRS TDV8
