child seat

Hi. Has anybody had problems trying to fit a child seat in the rear seats. I've consulted the manual about the belt ratcheting but its bloody frustrating to say the least when it takes three hands and 10 mins before there's enough belt length to do the job. If my new born son could laugh I'm sure he would, instead of crying the whole time..... please help with either tips or advice.
Ps the child seat is a silvercross of that helps. Thank you.

RRS ownership is frustrating Laughing Laughing Thumbs Up

I fail to understand how a car so big cannot accommodate the width of a std childs car seat, even the kids are used to wiggling back and forward to enable access to the buckle Rolling Eyes

Get an isofix seat or an isofix base. I've got both for newborn and 2 year old and they are perfect. The seat is a britax duo-plus which LR reccomend and the base and seat is maxi cosi cabriofix 16 model year yulong white autobiography

Thanks, so does this mean that what I'm experiencing is normal? A ratcheting seat belt that's impossible for my wife to use on her own. Very frustrating.... help!

I think it might be faulty, get a dealer to take a look.

Hi Thanks everyone. I have carried out a bit of research and i'm fully aware that the ratcheting has to be in operation for the seat to be held safely. Ive played about with it enough now to understand that the problem i'm experiencing appears to be with the belt length. If only it was another 12" longer the job would be smoother operation. For reference the child seat is a Silvercross Ventura seat..... i have subsequently found out that they now supply an Isofix adaptor for the Maxicosi seats to fit the prams. Looks like i'll live with it for now. Thanks again to everyone.
