Car Dealers knowledge about their own product

Went to test drive the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid this weekend and they didnt have one in.

The sales guy said take out the V8 4.5litre as its exactly the same drive etc.

I said I thought the hybrid was only 3 litre v6? No no no he says.....it is definitely 4.5 litre v8 hybrid.

So........I drove the V8 and loved it! Awesome car.....I love the new interior as well, much, much better than the RRS interior....

Just now I went on Porsche's website to confirm it is 4.5 litre V8 as I was ready to buy and it is not!!! It IS 3.0 V6!!!

How can they get it so wrong?

Not happy now as I thought the hybrid would drive like the car I drove and now I have to start all over again and expect the hybrid drive will be dissapointing by comparison.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

There way of getting you to try it then find you prefer it over 3.0 and then buy the 4.5!!!

Interior wise, it may feel better, but ergonomically and aethestically, on par with everything else that is normal car based, tiny switches etc.

WRT knowledge, its shocking isn't it.............unfortunately, even some LR dealers are inept in their limited range of cars, imagine if they worked for VW etc............we would be doomed. Big Cry Big Cry L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Granted the LR interior looks better there, but in the flesh, the porsche with piano black wood and black leather looks awesome.

If it was a ploy to get me to buy the 4.5 it wont work as I am looking at the hybrid for company car tax reasons......if I was going to buy the 4.5 I'd buy an FFRR!

Really not pleased with this lie / lack of knowledge.

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green

The hybrid has had some pretty negative reviews in the motoring press. To quote Whatcar? 'The Hybrid is disappointing'. Definitely get a long test drive in the right model if you are interested in one. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

chalk and cheese, the new RRS 3.0 TDV6 is 100% better than the old 2.7 TDV6, more power and better mpg.

Mate big change on the 2.7, you won't believe the gulf between the 2, and the interior really makes it a better place. Just get the Ivory leather, looks very classy indeed, and if you are feeling flush, then spec it up as you like...although forget about the 360 cameras, waste of money IMHO......The Luxury edition has a very good hi fi, and I like the extended leather too....

JF, shame you have to copy me mate, but you have my permission to do so....Fuji and Ivory is the only way to go, and yes you have to have 22's wheels.

Go for the Rear DVD and try and get the Luxury Pack too....gives you a few extras too...
