Scotland 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

When I bought my RRS it came with 22's fitted. After a couple of months i decided to change them for 20's as I found the ride to be a bit firm, although to be fair the roads are terrible round here.

Here is a pic of my RRS with 22's (old wheels):

imho the RRs look great on 22's BUT you have to be prepared for:

The ride is slightly firmer, but the handling is slightly more focused.
The probability of writing an alloy (and tyre) off on our current roads is way way higher
To look 100% you really need to lower the car by 25mm (This really sets the rims off in the arches)
The speedo will read slightly slow (1 or 2 mph) so no 10% margins

The 20's are a great compromise but I still miss having 22's on mine Big Cry RRS gone

Thanks Awd man,

I understand about the lowering but i suffered one year ago of a lowering module on a xj 2007 facelift that Arden.de sold me, it has been a nightmare from day one, it has messed my warranty. the whole car, the relation with the dealer and cost me 3500 euros not find out what was going on, so i am off with lowering kit of any style, but i agree they look better lowered.

my 18´´ cute wheels with good condition Michelin, I will use these wheels until the tires are at the middle of their treads.

I am looking for a 19´´ or 20´´ set of wheels for later on. tdv6s 2.7 2007

Thanks a lot Awd man, I am checking ebay, do you think i should not look there that 400 gbp set may not be great or damaged? I looked on ebay for Overfinch ones and found a few set. tdv6s 2.7 2007

The trouble with ebay is you don't know the condition of the tyres (or alloys) until you've picked them up..and there are a few cowboys out there.... also, not all Overfinch alloys are ermm Overfinch... if you know what I mean.

£400 for a set of used alloys, which then need new tyres (lets face it, if the tyres were good they would not be selling them with the alloys would they)... so you're looking at £900-£1000....

So why not just get a set of nearly new with brand new contri's on for £200 more.... this was my reasoning anyway RRS gone

I honestly don't find the ride so bad on 22's.

Be careful when looking at cheap ones for sale, they are usually cheap for a reason. Normally not strong enough for the weight of the car and therefore crack, they are usually replica's made out of melted down pots and pans in china, wrapped up in the cheapest ditch finders on the market. Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Or keep an eye out in the for sale section (This is where both Overfinch, Duckworths and other forum members advertise alloys) RRS gone

I am confused at what model is a tdv6s, a l320 or p38? i am looking now for an air filter as the LD service only did a oil change and did not have time to look at my air filter. tdv6s 2.7 2007

The Sport is the L320. The P38 was an earlier version of the full Range Rover. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
